PURPOSE: To provide a light emitting tube capable of ensuring the coldest part and with long life when a translucent ceramic is used as a light emitting tube material. ;CONSTITUTION: A starting auxiliary conductive plug body 15 is installed in a light emitting tube main body 10 formed by sealing a discharge medium and a noble gas in a discharge space 11, and an induction means 30 for generating induction coupling discharge is installed around the light emitting tube in the light emitting tube main body 10. The light emitting tube main body 10 is formed with a translucent ceramic, a cylinder 14 is integrally formed in the light emitting tube main body 10, the starting auxiliary conductive plug body 15 is inserted into the cylinder 14, and the plug body 15 is airtightly joined to an opening 14a of the cylinder 14 through a glass adhesive 20.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1995,JPO
