摘要

PURPOSE: To obtain a new green algae belonging to the genus Prototheca and capable of producing 2,6-naphthalenedicarboxylic acid useful e.g. as a raw material for high-functional resin, liquid crystal, polyamide-type pharmaceutical, dye, pigment, etc., from 2,6-dimethylnaphthalene. ;CONSTITUTION: This new green algae Prototheca sp.Y II-2041 strain (stipulation was rejected because of green algae) belonging to the genus Prototheca and a new yeast Candida parapsilosis YII-21 strain (FERM P-14382) are produced by collecting soils from various parts of the country, adding the soils to a carbon-free medium, adding 2,6-dimethylnaphthalene to the medium, culturing the microorganisms in the soil, collecting the produced colony, confirming the productivity of 2,6-naphthalenedicarboxylic acid for each strain and selecting the microorganisms capable of producing 2,6-naphthalenedicarboxylic acid. 2,6-Naphthalenedicarboxylic acid or its salt can be produced by culturing the obtained microorganisms in a medium containing 2,6-dimethylnaphthalene.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1996,JPO
