METHOD FOR CULTURING AND MULTIPLYING PRIMORDIAL GERM CELL OF BIRD

PURPOSE: To produce the individuals of a chimeric bird by exvivo co-culturing bird primordial germ cells and interstitial cells originated from a bird embryo sexual gland to efficiently multiply the bird primordial germ cells, introducing extraneous gene into the multiplied cells, respectively, and subsequently returning the extraneous gene-introduced primordial germ cells into a developing bird embryo. ;CONSTITUTION: Bird primordial germ cells and interstitial cells originated from a bird embryo sexual gland at about 3-9 days after incubation of egg derived from a domestic foul are exvivo co-cultured e.g. in 37°C air to multiply the bird primordial germ cells. Extraneous genes are preferably introduced into the bird primordial germ cells, respectively, during the multiplication.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1995,JPO
