PURPOSE: To enable the production of covered yarn in high productivity even in the case of draft ratio of ≤3.0 with a thin core thread so that the knitting of a panty hose having soft feeling, free from excess tightening and excellent in transparency and durability is possible. ;CONSTITUTION: A covering machine produces an elastic covered yarn. In a hollow spindle 4 of the covering machine, a spiral wire 16 having a relatively rough pitch is inserted through out the almost total length of the hollow part of the spindle and a balloon formed in the core thread A passing through the hollow part of the spindle is prevented from touching the inner periphery of the hollow part.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1996,JPO
