DETECTING METHOD FOR CHOKING OF WATER LEVEL CONTROL CYLINDER DURING STARTING OF BOILER

PURPOSE: To perform safe operation of a boiler by a method wherein when water is fed during the starting of a boiler, in a case a water level is detected by a lower electrode in a water level control cylinder, the feed of water is stopped and when a water level is detected by an upper electrode rod after a lapse of a given time, it is decided that a lower communication pipe is about to be choked. ;CONSTITUTION: Choking of a water level control cylinder 13 with feed water is decided as a self diagnosing function available during the starting of a boiler l. Namely, when boiler water flows in through drive of a feed water pump 4, a water level in a water level control cylinder 13 is raised, and a water level is detected by a lower electrode rod M in the water level control cylinder 13, the feed water pump 4 is stopped. When a water level is detected by an upper electrode rod S after a lapse of a given time, for example, 30 seconds, it is decided that a part of the lower communication pipe 16 is about to be choked, and this effect is alarmed. This constitution performs safe operation of the boiler 1 and prevents the occurrence of short water in a cold district where there is a fear of freezing occurring.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1996,JPO
