PURPOSE: To set and maintain full double communication between two terminal stations connected with a token ring network without designating connection. ;CONSTITUTION: Each terminal station 10 confirms whether or not only two terminal stations in an operating state are present on a network 18 in an operation in a full double mode in an automatic constitution, and when it is so, the exchange of frames with the other terminal stations is operated for setting full double communication. Once the full double communication is set, it is operated with wider band width than that of the communication of a token ring network without lengthening a waiting time, or constraining a distance related with the token ring network. Periodic check is operated by each terminal station in the full double communication for confirming whether or not the other stations are still connected, or whether or not the third terminal station is turned into an operating state.
