PURPOSE:To satisfy insecticidal effect, safety, usability and producing property, etc., by selecting a 2,2,3,3-tetramethylcyclopropanecarboxylic acid ester having high vapor pressure and capable of improving insecticidal activity when used in a form of smoking and heat-transpiring insecticide as an optimum effective ingredient. CONSTITUTION:This smoking and heat-transpiring insecticide contains a propargylfurylmethyl alcohol ester compound of 2,2,3,3- tetramethylcyclopropanecarboxylic acid expressed by formula I (R is H or methyl) as an active ingredient. The insecticide obtained by including 0.3-1.2% active ingredient of formula I as an active ingredient and then processing in a form of incense is preferably used. 5-Propargyl-2-furylmethyl-2,2,3,3- tetramethylcyclopropanecarboxylate, etc., is preferably used as the compound of formula I. The compound of formula I is obtained by reacting 2,2,3,3- tetramethylcyclopropanecarboxylic acid or its reactive derivative with a propargylfurylmethyl alcohol of formula II or its reactive derivative.
