Leak detection device and method for fast breeder reactor steam generator

PURPOSE:To rapidly detect the leak of the steam generator of a fast breeder reactor by blowing in sparge gas to bring the same into contact with sodium having leak gas dissolved therein and carrying the leak gas by the sparge gas to analyze the same. CONSTITUTION:Sodium having leak gas dissolved therein sent in a sparger tank 1 from a sodium inflow part 2 enters the sodium receiving tank 5 arranged to the upper part of the sparger tank 1 and a sparge gas blowing-in part 3 sending in the sparge gas is arranged to the lower part of the tank 1. The sparge gas sent in from the blowing-in part 3 once turns downwardly to be diffused in the same direction by a lower cover and subsequently turns upwardly to rise in the contact state with the liquid droplets flowing down from the receiving tank 5 and sodium flowing down along the inside of the tank 1 from the lower part of an annular sodium distributing tank 7 and expels the leak gas dissolved in sodium and is discharged from a sparge gas discharge part 4. The discharged sparge gas is sent into a gas analyser and the concn. of the leak gas in the sparge gas is measured.
