PURPOSE: To improve response to low concentration chloride ion by employing tridodecyl methyl ammonium chloride as a response substance, adding dodecyl benzene sulfonic acid thereto, dissolving the mixture into phthalic acid-n-diamyl and supporting by polyvinyl chloride. ;CONSTITUTION: Tridodecyl methyl ammonium chloride is dissolved into a mixture of phthalic acid-n-diamyl and dodecyl benzene sulfonic acid at room temperature. It is then added with polyvinyl chloride and dissolved into tetrahydrofuran. The solution is transferred into a laboratory dish made of ethylene tetrachloride resin and left, as it is, for one night at about 25°C in order to evaporate tetrahydrofuran thus obtaining a transparent membrane. The response membrane enhances the linearity in buffer, especially for low concentration chloride ions.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1995,JPO
