METHOD FOR OBSERVING EARTHQUAKE AND STRONG WIND FOR STRUCTURE

PURPOSE: To maintain a device in a normal operating state by confirming the operating state of a sensor and data recording device by always storing all measuring data temporarily in the data recording device. ;CONSTITUTION: Measured values A₁ of each element such as the wind velocity (v), seismic acceleration α, acceleration of response β or displacement and stress of each element are calculated by suitably analyzing and processing 4b measuring data after successively sending the data to an observation room 2, amplifying 6 the data, and then, recording 4a the data. Then each measuring value A₁ is compared 4c with each preset reference value A₀, namely, v₀, α₀, and β₀. Only when A₁≥A₀, the data are accepted, stored, and kept 4b. The data stored and kept (4b) are fetched at appropriate time intervals and the content of the data is checked and whether or not a device operates normally is confirmed. When the data contain a questionable point, its cause is cleared up and the defective part is remedied. Therefore, the external forces acting on an objective structure and the response of the structure to the external forces can be measured without omission through a year and, in addition, the measuring data are appropriately discriminated and only necessary data can be kept.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1995,JPO
