LIVER-PRESERVING AGENT AND LIVER PRESERVING METHOD

PURPOSE:To obtain a liver preserving agent capable of effectively suppressing death of liver cells by suppressing microcirculation disorder of a liver after cold storage and re-perfusion of liver and useful for preserving liver in transplantation of liver. CONSTITUTION:This liver preserving agent contain a phosphoric acid diester compound of ascorbic acid and tocopherol, expressed by the formula (R1 and R2 are each H or methyl) or its pharmacologically permissible salt. The concentration of the compound of the formula is 5X10 to 1X10-4g/ml, preferably 1X10-7 to 1X10-6g/ml as the final concentration of a liquid preparation. Osmotic pressure of the liver preserving agent in formulating to the liquid preparation is preferably controlled to 260-360m0sm and pH of the liquid preparation is preferably controlled to 3-10. The liquid preparation is used as at least one liquid preparation selected from (1) an initial perfusate used for perfusion in liver in extirpating the liver, (2) an immersing and preserving liquid or perfusing and preserving liquid and (3) a rinse solution before re-perfusion of blood.
