HOT REPAIR METHOD AND REPAIR DEVICE FOR IMMERSION NOZZLE FOR CONTINUOUS CASTING

PURPOSE: To safely and rapidly execute highly durable repair at hot without dropping thermal spraying powder into a casting mold by forming a thermally sprayed repair layer on a locally damaged part by a flame thermal spraying method of executing thermal spraying by installing a box for recovering the thermally spraying powder onto the casting mold, then projecting the thermal spraying powder into oxygen- propane flames. ;CONSTITUTION: A powder recovering plate 9 is installed on the casting mold 6 in order to prevent the thermal spraying powder from falling into the casting mold 6 prior to the hot repair. Next, the base metal and deposits adhered on the surface of the locally eroded part 4 are melted away in the propane-oxygen thermal spraying flames 10 by a thermal spraying burner 11 and thereafter, the thermal spraying consisting essentially of ZrO₂ is supplied from a powder supplying machine 13 into the propane-oxygen flames 10, by which the locally eroded part 4 is subjected build-up repair. More particularly, coarse particles, such as graphite particles, are projected by a projecting pipe 15 from a coarse particle supplying machine 14 outside the thermal spraying system into the thermally sprayed build-up layer 8 before the layer 8 is solidified in order to improve the thermal impact resistance of the build-up repair part by the thermal spraying.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1996,JPO
