PURPOSE: To prevent the driving air in a cylinder from freezing by sustaining the outer peripheral temperature of the cylinder at a constant level without requiring any electric heater. ;CONSTITUTION: The air cylinder for low temperature test equipment comprises a cylinder 1 covered with a heat insulating material 2, a piston being set slidingly in the cylinder, and a tube 4 for driving the air cylinder connected with the cylinder at the opposite ends thereof. In the air cylinder being stretched and contracted in a low temperature environment test equipment by means of a piston rod 5 connected with the piston, the air cylinder is disposed having a predetermined distance from the heat insulating material and low humidity normal temperature air is caused to flow around the cylinder covered with the heat insulating material 2.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1996,JPO
