PURPOSE: To avoid the lowering of yarn tension or yarn ballooning breakage by changing the operating speed during the final process for forming a yarn layer in forming a cop and controlling the yarn tension. ;CONSTITUTION: When an endless synthetic yarn 6 is passed through a thread guide 7 to form a cop on a bobbin 3 while twisting the yarn 6 with a traveler 9 rotating on a twisting ring 8 and a ring rail 10 is then lowered to a position for forming a yarn layer in the basic part in forming the cop in winding in a draw twister, a treatment for reducing the yarn feed speed or increasing the number of spindle revolutions and increasing the yarn tension is carried out during the final process for forming the yarn layer in forming the cop. After the ring rail 10 is lowered to the position for forming the yarn layer in the basic part, the yarn 6 is wound around a yarn tail winding ring 5 to prepare for the bobbin change.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1996,JPO
