PURPOSE: To measure the aerodynamic noise of an elevator apparatus for a skyscraper by a low speed running simulation in a short going up and down way by running a plurality of elevator cages in parallel simultaneously in the same direction to simulate the aerodynamic properties at the time of running at high speed. ;CONSTITUTION: In the case an elevator cage with cross-sectional area A is driven solely at speed V in, for example, a going up and down test way with inner cross-sectional area S, the air flow speed U1 in the surroundings of the elevator cage becomes a value to satisfy the following; U1=VS/(S-A). Moreover, in the case two elevator cages are driven simultaneously in parallel at speed V, the air flow speed U2 can be defined as the following; U2=VS(S-2A) and as compared with the air flow speed U1 at the time of driving solely, the speed U2 becomes as high as R times of U1 (R=U2/U1=(S-A)/(S-2A). Since the aerodynamic noise increases proportionally to the air flow speed raised to sixth power, the inner noise of an elevator cage increases by L decibel [L=60log(S- A)/(S-2A)] at the time when two elevator cages are driven in parallel. The increased degree, about 12 decibel, is equivalent to about 1.6 times of the driving speed V at the time of driving solely and thus aerodynamic noise at the time of high speed driving can be presumed.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1995,JPO
