PURPOSE: To hold the function of a waves control structure substantially for a permanent period by installing piles in a row in a state submerged under the seawater surface without projecting the piles offshore. CONSTITUTION: Piles 1 are installed with their head submerged under a seawater level. Then, sand stopper members 2 are laid out between the piles 1. When the piles are laid out in a single row, an opening area rate (=A/(sh) is defined as 0.1 to 0.2 where a pile-to pile span is (s) and water depth is (h) and an opening area per pile span is A. Furthermore, a plurality of piles 1 are installed side by side in the direction of the coast, and the layout span of each pile is placed as 1/4 to 3/4 of a prevailing wavelength determined from wavelength-frequency characteristic based on he observation of onsite waves intended. This construction makes it possible to hold the functions of a waves control structure substantially for a permanent period and prevent sand from flowing out in the offshore direction behind with a sand stopper member and expect a seaside deformation control effect as well.
