METHOD FOR FIXING FOIL ELECTRODE FOR MEASURING PARTIAL DISCHARGE TO INSULATING JOINT POWER CABLE

PURPOSE: To obtain a method for fixing a foil electrode for measuring partial discharge to an insulating joint of a power cable in order to protect a corrosion layer against dielectric breakdown due to a surge voltage. ;CONSTITUTION: A semiconductive ACP(adhesive semiconductive crosslinked polyethylene) tape is wound, at first, around a protective tube 2 at a joint of a power cable to form a first semiconductive layer 4. A copper or aluminium foil electrode 5 is then fixed onto the protective tube 2 and a semiconductive C(carbon) tape is wound around the fringe part of the foil electrode 5 to form a second semiconductive layer 6 thus clamping the fringe part of the foil electrode 5 between the semiconductive layers 4, 6. Finally, a PVC (polyvinyl chloride) tape 7 is wound around the foil electrode 5 for the purpose of protection.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1996,JPO
