PURPOSE:To manufacture an Nb3Sn family compound wire rod having excellent superconductive characteristic. CONSTITUTION:A conjugated wire rod is prepared by sequentially forming an Sn layer 5 and a metal member layer 6 which has its melting point higher than that of Sn and unreactive with Sn on a conjugated element wire prepared by arranging a plurality of Nb filaments in a substrate of Cu-Sn family alloy and Nb3Sn filament is produced in the substrate of Cu-Sn family alloy by applying heat diffusive treatment to this conjugated element wire. Thereby, as the metal material layer 6 having a high melting point and unreactive with Sn holds melted Sn on the conjugated element wire, the heat diffusive treatment of Sn can be performed at high temperature in a short time. Accordingly, an Nb3Sn family compound superconductive wire rod having excellent superconductive characteristic can be provided without producing any hole in a substrate.
