PURPOSE: To obtain the sheet capable of being operated at ordinary temperature, thinned in the thickness, and improved into the sheet excellent in chemical durability and handleability, and suitable as a hole-burning material, etc., to obtain a coating used for producing the sheet, and further to provide the method for producing the sheet. ;CONSTITUTION: A light-transmitting coating film 2 containing in a dispersed state the fine particles 1 of an optical glass containing divalent rare earth element ions obtained by reducing a trivalent rare earth element is formed on the surface of a sheet substrate 3. The sheet can readily be produced by executing a process for coating a coating on the surface of the sheet substrate and a process for curing the coated coating. The coating contains the fine particles of the optical glass containing divalent rare earth element ions obtained by reducing the trivalent rare earth element and a light-transmitting organic binder in a mixed state.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1996,JPO
