PURPOSE: To reduce the thickness of an orthogonal transformer by providing a pair of protruded sections having a prescribed width and length on the side face of one side leg of a Ushaped core opposite to the side face of the side leg facing the other side leg of the core in parallel with the extending direction of the side leg. ;CONSTITUTION: An orthogonal transformer is constituted of one first bobbin 3 for control winding, four cores 7, and one second bobbin 10 for main winding. The first bobbin 3 is composed of a core 1 and flanges 2 and put on the protruded section 5 of the center leg 6 of the core 7. The second bobbin 10 is composed of a core 8 and flanges 9 and put on the center leg 6.
