PURPOSE: To obtain a bulky complex yarn useful for providing a woven or a knitted fabric, excellent in a lightweight touch feeling having elasticity by mixing a readily soluble filament yarn with a highly shrinkable filament yarn having a large size and a staple fiber in a specific state. ;CONSTITUTION: This complex yarn comprises a fibrous bundle A constituted of a core part comprising a combined filament yarn group prepared by combining a readily soluble filament yarn with a highly shrinkable filament yarn having a large size and a sheath part comprising staple fibers and a fibrous bundle B constituted only of the staple fibers. The combined filament yarn group is obtained by doubling the readily soluble filament yarn with the highly shrinkable filament yarn having the large size, opening the resultant interlaced combined filament yarn 3 with an opening device 10, feeding rovings 1 and 2 to back rollers 4 of a spinning frame at a specific interval D, drafting the rovings parallel between the back rollers 4 and front rollers 9, mutually twisting the staple fiber assembly in a twisting zone after the front rollers 9, plying the resultant twisted staple fiber assembly with the opened combined filament yarn and combining both. This method for producing a knitted or a woven fabric is to weave or knit the prepared complex yarn, then shrink the highly shrinkable fibers having the large size and elute the readily soluble fibers.
