Periodic tricalcium citrate recrystallisation method for obtainingdicalcium acid citrate

Method wherein tricalcium citrate is obtained by neutralising the motherliquor solution with a calcium salt, after separating the dicalcium acidcitrate. It is characterised in that the citric acid solution and tricalciumcitrate and/or calcium hydroxide, calcium carbonate, calcium chloride areperiodically added to the dicalcium acid citrate suspension, the duration ofthe addition representing 1 to 100 hours, the reaction time without additionbeing from 0.5 to 20 hours, while the final value of the citric acidconcentration during the recrystallisation is 40 to 200 g per litre of themother liquor after separating the dicalcium acid citrate from thesuspension, the contact time of the suspension in the reaction vessels beingfrom 1 second to 300 minutes.
