The variety of pear-tree (Pirus communts L.) Moldavanca is obtained by crossing the varieties Beurre Bosc x (Douenne d'hiver + Contesse de Paris), is destinated for fresh fruit consumption and districted in all the fruit-growing zones of the Republic of Moldova.The tree has a medium vigour with piramidal crown, large and thin. The skeletal branches are crooked, the ends of the branches are directed downwadrs.The shoots are of a medium thickness, light-brown. The tree bears fruits on fruit stems, on fruit twigs.The fruits are of medium size (150-160 g), of a bergamot form with sleek surface. The peel is of a medium delicacy, green in the period of fruit-bearing and yellow-green after their keeping. The colour of the fruit is green in the period of fruit-bearing, after keeping it becomes yellow-green. The covering is rust-coloured. The pulp is white-green, juicy, sour-sweet with well-distinguished aroma.The tree bears fruits late in September. The fruits are well kept in the fridge up to April. The variety is incompatible with the quince-tree and it isn't a selfv fertilising variety. The trees enter in the fruit bearing period in the 7th year after the plantation and blossom in medium terms.The varieties Beur Bosc, Beurre d'Hardenpont are the best pollinators.
