A device for closing a door or window opening which is surrounded by a door or window frame, for example in a building or a caravan, comprising a cloth or mesh material which is mounted in such a manner that it can be rolled up into a housing about a pin, to which cloth or mesh material a pull rod is attached, to allow the said cloth or mesh material to be pulled out of the housing, as well as at least one guide rail for guiding the pull rod, at least one guide rail being pivotably attached at one end to the housing, and that end of the pull rod which is guided by the said guide rail comprising a locking means for releasably fixing the said end to the said guide rail.
