An electrical switchgear has a plurality of assembled fields and busbars extending over these fields. The supporting elements of the switchgear (side walls 1, 2, 10, 11) have a locally set back or recessed profile (profile recesses 3, 4, 12, 13), as a result of which a busbar space (18) is formed which is accessible over its entire length. Busbar supports (40) are constructed in the manner of combs and have cut-outs for the full profile of the busbars (43).
