The invention relates to a process for the manufacture of majolica pastes which comprises using the sludges resulting from the cutting, sawing and polishing of marbles in a percentage by weight of between 10% and 15%. The invention also relates to a majolica paste which incorporates as percentages by weight, sludge from the cutting, sawing and polishing of marbles 10 to 15%, white clay 20 to 30%, grey clay 5 to 15%, kaolin 20 to 25% and sand 30 to 35%.
