Appts. for filtering liqs. such as fibrous suspensions or contaminated water, comprises the following components; (A) at least one circular, hollow filter plate (5,81) lowerable into a body of liq. requiring filtration, which is positioned perpendicular to a horizontal axis passing through the centre of the plate, and which has two opposing side walls (6,7) with radial inner and outer ends. at least one of these walls is liq.-permeable and covered with filter material (9). The walls are joined to each other only at their outer ends. (B) axial wall sections (10,82) connected to the side walls in order to form a filtrate chamber (12) through the centre of the plate to the inside of the plate, thus defining a circular opening between the chamber and the inside of the plate; (C) drive body (13) for rotating the plate about the horizontal axis; (D) means (1) for creating a pressure difference between the liq. body and the inside of the plate in order to urge the liq. through the filter material, into the plate and then into the chamber via the circular opening; and (E) stationary wall body (19,92) running axially into the chamber to divide it into two or more axial filtrate channels (20,22), the body being axially remote from the axial wall sections and arranged so that the channels receive different filtrate fractions during rotation of the plate through the body of liq.. The novel feature of the appts. is that (E) has stationary dividing walls, (27,28,37,44,67,93) running from the body into the inside of the plate via the circular opening, for directing the different filtrate fractions to the respective filter channels. These walls are sepd. from the side walls of (A) by a given distance.
