CONTROL SYSTEM FOR COLD ROLLING, IN PARTICULAR FOR A SENDZIMIR MULTIPLE-CYLINDER ROLLING MILL

A system for controlling the operation of a cold reversible rolling mill, in particular a Sendzimir multiple-cylinder rolling mill, is described. Said system receives from the operator the parameters (type of steel, initial and final thickness, strip width, etc.) of the strip to be rolled and determines (depending on the known characteristics of the material used) the characteristic parameters of the rolling process (number of passes and, for each pass, speed of strip, percentage reduction in thickness, position of the rolling cylinders, etc.). A characteristic feature of the invention consists in the fact of envisaging, for each pass performed with the strip in the rolling mill, control of the evenness which modifies the shape of the rolling compartment so as to ensure the uniform distribution of the internal tension along the section of the rolled strip.
