A prefabricated concrete element 1 for the construction of viaducts for elevated railway or trolley lines comprises an elongate tubular structure 2 of quadrilateral cross section, at least two walls of which have a thickness substantially less than the design thickness. A plurality of transverse ribs 4, spaced out between them, project from the outer surface of said walls and define, together with them, a plurality of spaced out bays 4a. A metallic reinforcement 8, 9, connected to the ribs 4, constitutes the reinforcement for concrete cast in situ in the aforesaid bays 4a to bring up the thickness of the aforesaid walls to the design value.
