The machine comprises a device 2 for intermittently drawing a dough 3 into continuous strings 4 of edible pasta fed two by two and from the top downwards inside corresponding vertical sleeves 10, supported revolvably by the frame of the machine, each of which is freely inserted, with its respective bottom end 10b into an associated underlying tubular element 20. Rotation of said sleeves around their associated axes makes the pasta strings 4 intertwine, while the bottom end 20b of the above-mentioned tubular elements 20, driven in a phase relationship with the device 2, in closed loop paths, form rings of pasta 40 on an underlying conveyor belt 50 which is driven in steps at the end of every formation cycle of said pasta rings 40 and following cutting off of the latter, by means of cutting components 51, by the respective strings of pasta 4.
