Method for dewatering animal sewage through the use of biological oxidation processes in a thermophilic stage, characterised in that: . a pit to contain biodegradable biomass such as straw, hay, maize stalks, sawdust, foliage, shredded branches, dried seaweed, and similar plant or animal materials and degradable derivatives, and fermentable solid urban wastes which may possibly have been separately collected is used, . the said biomass is impregnated with animal sewage, and possibly with sludges from domestic sewage purification units, . the temperature within the biomass is increased and . sprinkling and/or injection is applied when the temperature within the biomass reaches a response temperature in excess of 40-50 degree.
