Control device for probes for measuring physical and/or chemical quantities in underground boreholes, comprising a frame designed to support a winding drum of an electrical connecting cable for the measurement probe and for its mechanical suspension; motor means associated with the said winding drum of the said cable; a device for measuring the unwinding and/or winding of the said cable in its movement inside a guide tube laid in the underground borehole; a controller for operating the motor means and monitoring the mechanical movement of the measuring head; and an electronic computer designed to acquire and record the data supplied by the measuring head. Safety means are also provided to maintain control of the cable supporting the measuring head, to prevent the loss of the probe in case of electrical and/or mechanical malfunction. IMAGE
