Brace-type rolling stand with increased resistance to axial stress comprising a base 11 which supports at least one pair of rolling cylinders 13 having gaskets 12 which can move vertically away from each other or closer together by means of four vertical braces 14 having threaded portions 27 made from opposite parts of at least one pair of support feet 15 arranged between the base and the gaskets 12 which support and contain a smooth central portion 25' of the braces 15, in which from at least one of the support feet 15 there extends upward and downward in a direction parallel to that of the braces 14 a contoured portion 26 able to receive and guide a vertical rib 29 projecting outward from the gaskets 12, the contoured portion 26 and the vertical rib 29 both carrying immovable elements 32, 33, 38 for adjustment and free travel on facing surfaces.
