Parts for protecting the base of a boiler of a coal-fired thermal power station, particularly for the tubes located in the lower region of the boiler which are subjected to the eroding action of the ash which falls at high speed and temperature, said parts being in the form of tiles which cover the tubes and the welded plates which connect consecutive tubes, fastened by means of bolts which pass through these parts and said plates and immobilized by nuts or spot welds (weld points) positioned or made on the outer face, the parts being produced in accordance with the profile of the tube and they have, on their edges, homologous terminations which overlap with one other in order, together, to form a totally smooth surface inside the boiler.
