METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR AUTOMATED MEETING AGENDA GENERATION IN A DATA PROCESSING SYSTEM

The method and apparatus of the present inventionpermit the automatic generation of a meeting agenda for arequested meeting concerning a document stored within adata processing system. A document, such as an inventiondisclosure document, is stored within a data processingsystem and identified as the subject of a desiredmeeting. Evaluation comments by a plurality of userswithin the data processing system regarding theidentified document are tabulated and utilized to createa meeting agenda automatically in response to a requestfor a meeting. In one preferred embodiment of thepresent invention, desired meeting parameters includingat least: a desired meeting duration; a desired datespan; and a list of desired attendees are selected by ameeting requester and copies of the automatically createdmeeting agenda are automatically transmitted to eachdesired attendee in conjunction with a notice of thescheduled meeting. Printed copies of the meeting agendamay also be automatically created in response to ascheduled meeting.
