The ignition device is activated somewhere along its path through the tube, possibly at the moment when the ignition device leaves the tube, possibly when the ignition device starts its journey through the tube, or possibly by the fact that the ignition device strikes an object in the vicinity of the flare. The ignition device may be positioned within a trapping device prior to the reaction of the ignition device. The ignition device may be propelled through the guidance tube at a moderate speed, may optionally be stopped during its passage through the tube and may optionally be reversed and returned back into the guidance tube without a reaction taking place.
