A rock digging bucket (1) having a head section (3) with an upper sheave housing (2) with at least one sheave (4) located in the upper sheave housing (2). A plurality of hammering arms (10, 10a) are attached to a first end to the head section (3). The bucket (1) further has a lower sheave housing (8) with at least one sheave (6) located therein and a plurality of bucket segments (15) attached at a first point to a second end of the hammering arms (10, 10a) with the bucket segments (15) further being attached at a second point to the lower sheave housing (8). The bucket (1) is operated by a first closing cable (17) reeved between the lower sheave (6) and the upper sheave (4) and extending upward from the rock digging bucket (1) and a second closing cable (19) attached to the upper sheave housing (2) and also extending upward from the rock digging bucket (1). Finally, the bucket (1) has a power regulating device (53) operatively connected to the hammering arms (10, 10a).
