A METHOD OF WELDING OF ALUMINIUM OR ALUMINIUM ALLOYS AND SHIELDING GAS COMPOSITION FOR USE IN SUCH WELDING

A method of welding aluminium or aluminium alloys while using an inert shielding gas. With the intention of obtaining a pore-free joint, there is added to the shielding gas a small amount of carbon monoxide corresponding to 0.1-10 volume-%, preferably 1-3 volume-%. The invention also relates to a shielding gas composition for use when carrying out the method.
