BODY ARMOUR HAVING PERMANENT POSITIVE BUOYANCY

Body armour having permanent positive buoyancy and consisting of two front (1) and back covers and a pelvis protector (3), which three elements contain, from the outside in, a flexible bullet-proof layer made of ultra-high molecular weight unidirectional polyethylene, and an injury-preventing foam layer. Furthermore, the front and back comprise, on the side proximal to the wearer's body, a buoyancy member made of flexible foam, and a detachable foam buoyancy collar for keeping the wearer's head out of the water. Said body armour may be used in the industrial field of manufacturing protective equipment for members of armed response teams such as military or civilian anti-terrorist hit squads and the like, and particularly marine commandos and troops deployed in marine environments.
