Process for the production of a double carpet fabric in the form of a double-weft weave

To weave a double layered carpeting on a double gripper loom, where the layers are joined together by piles, in a double weft binding, the repeat for the pile warps extends over three wefts, while the repeat for the foundation is over two wefts. Pref. for every possible pile yarns in a repeat three wefts, a combination of the warps and wefts and pile yarns is constructed for every possible repeat, where the setting of each pile warp yarn is defined on every weft insertion. A total of 18 combinations set the positions of the pile warps in every repeat over three wefts taking into account the pile in in the repeat (1), the pile from the previous repeat (2) both of which form the pattern, and the pile (3) bonded into the lower layer which is neither of the first two piles, together with the pile (4) bonded into the upper layer which is also neither of the first two.
