摘要

In a magneto-optical recording process, a magneto-optical overwrite medium having film which comprises two layers joined by exchange connection and having different temperature characteristics of coercive forces is heated by irradiation of a light beam while an external magnetic field is applied to the medium, and the data which are so coded as to have necessarily a false value between truth values are recorded by the light beam of two-level power. The recording process includes the steps of forming recording marks by heating to a high temperature the magneto-optical overwrite medium by the light beam of high power so as to record the data of the false values, and heating to a low temperature the magneto-optical overwrite medium by the light beam of low level power so as to record the data of the truth values.
