Process for the preparation of substantially salt-free aqueous bis-aminooxy-alkane (I) solutions, by a) converting a dihaloalkane (II) with a ketoxime (III) in the aqueous solution of a strong mineral base to give the alkylene bis-oxime ether (IV), b) clearing the alkylene bis-oxime ether (IV) with a strong mineral acid and water to give the ketone and the mineral acid salt of the bis-aminooxy-alkane (I) and separating off the ketone in a manner known per se, c) treating the remaining aqueous solution with an alkali metal hydroxide to liberate the bis-aminooxy-alkane (I), and d) removing the ionic components from the resulting aqueous solution by electrodialysis.
