Allylphenol-terminated aromatic polycarbonates (PC) grafted with maleic anhydride (MA) are claimed (I). Also claimed are (i) a process for the prodn. of (I) by melt-compounding allylphenol-terminated PC with MA at 220-360 deg.C in a kneader or extruder; and (ii) thermoplastic moulding materials contg. (A) 40-95 wt.% (I), (B) 5-60 wt.% polyamide and (C) 0-20 wt.% epoxy- or anhydride- and/or acid-functional rubber, opt. with plasticisers, flow improvers, stabilisers, pigments and/or fire retardants.
