Extension cord with multiple sockets and integrated control device for switching the sockets on and off

The distributor includes a number of sockets (A) which are arranged in line along a frame with a cable entry (D) at the end where the common on/off switch (B) is located. Switching at instants of zero-crossings of voltage in the AC supply is ensured by a controller (C) with four studs (P1-P4) accessible from outside the frame. Two (P3,P4) of these studs provide an output control signal for another controller while the other two (P1,P2) allow a control signal to be input. The switching of the several sockets takes place at staggered instants controlled by a sequencer with a mains-synchroniser clock.
