The joint prosthesis, especially between the clavicle and sternum, has a throat section (17) with a connected joint ball head (6) for fitting at one side, and a housing section for it attached to the other side to allow the ball head (6) a swing movement, opposite the throat opening (16) for the throat section (17) to pass through. A side opening allows access for assembly. A mantle (18) between the ball joint head (6) and the shrouding is of a material with good sliding qualities, such as polyethylene.
