A method of generating notes of a plurality of selected musical instruments from a digital audio sample of the selected musical instrument is presented. The digital audio samples of a selected instrument are stored in memory. Next, a copy of the design audio sample is finely manipulated in parallel in the digital processor corresponding to the number of the plurality of selected musical instruments. Each digital processor processes the corresponding digital audio samples in a slightly different time-varying manner to show the effect of playing a plurality of instruments. The processed digital audio samples are summed as one digital sample. The summed digital audio samples are converted to analog signals to produce the notes of a number of selected musical instruments at the speakers.
