It is possible to provide a method capable of producing low-volume-density hollow fine particles of an alkali metal compound by a one-step process in an aqueous solution. The process for producing the low-volume-density fine particles of the alkali metal compound according to the present invention is carried out by bringing an aqueous solution of the alkali metal compound into contact with the pulsed combustion gas.
