Anticancer drugs and antimicrobial agents containing polysaccharides extracted from Daedalea dickinsii Yasuda

The present invention provides a polysaccharide component extracted from Daedalea dickinsii Yasuda, which belongs to the Polyporaceae. The polysaccharide component of the present invention is similar in anticancer effect to the polysaccharide component extracted from Ganoderma lucidum and exhibits superior anticancer effect than 5'-FU (fluorouracil), which is currently used anticancer agent. In addition, the polysaccharide component of the present invention exhibits an antibacterial effect which inhibits the growth of various pathogenic bacteria. Accordingly, the polysaccharide component extracted from the mosaic of the present invention may be used as an effective anticancer agent and antimicrobial agent.
