The Al2O3-TiC cutting tool comprises 20 to 80wt.% respectively Al2O3 and TiC as base material of main compositions and 0.1 to 5.0wt.% each TiO2, WC, Y2O3, MgO, ZrO2, Mo2C as addition agent for coating. The tool is produced by the processes of coating of metal bonding layer on the surface of base material, coating of intermediate layer, coating of wear resistance ceramic layer by CVD method. The thickness of metal bonding layer of one or more selected from Ti, Al, and TiAl by CVD method at 900 to 1,300deg.C is 0.1 to 2 Pm. The thickness of intermediate ceramic layer of one or more selected from (Ti,Al)CO, (Ti,Al)O, (Ti,Al)NO, (Ti,Al)CNO, (Ti,Al)CN by CVD method at 900 to 1,300deg.C is 0.1 to 10 Pm. The produced tool has a good wear resistance by improving of binding strength between ceramic coating layer and base material, and a long life cycle by formation of metal bonded or intermediate layer and prevention of crack propagation.
