A cluster interface is generated that represents the semantics similarity between code segments with respect to both the physical configuration of the code and the basic operations performed by the code. The generated interface represents one or more code segments. The code segment to be analyzed is received by the computer system. An external metric is generated based on the extracted statistical information. An interface display is generated from an external metric that indicates a similarity relationship between code segments entered based on the extracted statistical information.
